Traditionally all of the installation work we have undertaken has come form our client base of production companies who in turn now need to provide this service to their clients.

Back in 2001 UDV and Guinness merged to form Guinness UDV, Julian Grimwade was commissioned to create a concept to familiarise staff from all sections of the company with the large new range of brands.
The result was “Evolution” a multiroom semi-permanent display. This was built into an area onsite at Park Royal. Staff were given conducted tours of the nine “Brand” rooms laid out like a maze. Each brand room had some kind of multimedia display and lighting..

There was also a Bar area with two further Brand displays and an area with every brand displayed. Onyx installed all the sound and video equipment for the initial two-month period and supplied the technician to run the planned two months. However the exhibition proved so successful that the equipment was leased for a further year and the Evolution” was used for training and induction on a self-drive basis.

In March 2003 we were approached by one of our larger clients to see if we could help a well known Trainer manufacturer turn a large space in to a conference room with a difference. The brief also included a motorised projector mounting system and an easy to move large projection screen, this would allow the space to also be used as an interactive area for in house and press fashion shows. All of this was designed so that the staff could use this and change the room lay out with ease. Since this installation we have now sold numerous self-contained portable systems based on a 42” plasma screen that can be moved around meeting & training rooms.
